Future Wireless Device
Increasingly, wireless modem complexity, multi-mode operation and market pressures are driving mobile device developers to ever more flexible architectures. At the same time the development of semiconductor technologies, and particularly processor architectures, has reached the point where it is possible to create user terminals built on SDR techniques that are competitive in both cost and power consumption.
Cognovo was founded in 2009 by the team that built TTP Communications, one of the most successful software and systems licensing businesses in cellular modems. An early co-operation with ARM led to the spin-out of ARM’s novel vector processor technology to form the heart of our flexible modem platforms. Today ARM continues to support the business through its investment in the company and its contribution to our board.
Through a licensing business model, Cognovo’s Software Defined Modem (SDM) technology is enabling our partners to create flexible multi-mode devices capable of operating a dynamic mix of cellular, wireless and broadcast standards such as HSPA+, LTE, LTE-A, WiFi, WiGig, DVB, DMB.
Intelligent Wireless reflects a more intelligent approach to development, production and deployment of wireless communications within consumer electronic products. Ultimately delivering products which are able to dynamically re-configure their wireless modem to meet user, market or local environmental conditions as they arise.
